Yeah some simple workaround. based on what can be gleaned from google earth and some books.

Not without weaknesses tho as shown in some other thread more TRM from bigger aperture means smaller beamwidth which means it take longer to search an area. But phased array can actually "defocus" the beam by changing the radiation pattern, therefore it's still allow time to be managed in cost a bit of antenna gain.

The bigger picture however is to share some simple methods for range prediction and their possible application, as i saw some accounts who "happily" praise AESA radars and showing books, but not really show how the knowledge in the book can be applied in real world. I would love tho if more people actually understand and use 4th root inverse square law more. As when you get used to it, it's very intuitive and can show relationship of radar range with many things. You can even model AESA cost performance tradeoff with that with some additional information.
State-of-the-art fully digital AESA radars use a somewhat wider transmit beam in search mode. On the receive side they employ digital beamforming to subdivide the beam into any number of sub-beams, which enables rapid scanning with super-resolution.

An airlock on DDG 106, with the telltale airlock indicator light mounted just above the airtight door. Sharing it here in case a certain 'journalist' claims to have not seen any watertight doors or airlocks on his alleged tour of Type 055.

Here's the same airlock indicator light on a 052D:

Damn you are so petty…
I love it. A little pimp slap from time to time makes their cheeks rosy and their eyes bright as stars.

What are the capabilities of modern chinese VLS? Are they currently being quadpacked. Reports of the HT-1E VLS for export mentioned that capability specifically.
