An excerpt from a paper that I don't have access to. I'm therefore unsure about the context and how credible this is, but it states that a certain ship model (implied to be 055 by the illustration) has a beam of 21 meters, length of 180 meters, and a (total) height of 45 meters. The stated beam number of 21 meters is wider than the figure of 20 meters that is widely disseminated.

Does anyone know if the image is from a legitimate academic paper? The numbers should be for 055, which it states has a length of 183 meters, a draft of 8m, a standard displacement of 10,000 tons, a full displacement of 13,500 tons, and a top speed 35 knots. It also states the full/max width (not beam) of the vessel is 22m.

Likely a fake, Here is the full image, Range is mentioned 70,000 nm (Should be 7000 I think) and FLD as 13,500 But we now have the official figure.

Has to be overall length as well otherwise the numbers don't work out. Don't think navies usually report actual draft either. That allows guesstimating hydrodynamic details that no one but specialists care about. If it is a real image, it's probably just navigational draft like the US gives.

It is a master thesis from ”Wuhan University of Technology“. IMO, it is not academic paper which should be from research institute who is actually involved in 055 program.
