Based on the funnel shape, this is from Dalian. Do we get flyovers for the new shipyard there?
It appears at least some of the Jiangnan ships from the first batch have been retrofitted with the same fore funnel cowl that Dalian ships had been fitted from the beginning. I suspect the fore funnel cowling, originally a distinguishing characteristic of Dalian ships, is now the standard configuration for all 055

Unless there's some background here that I'm not aware of, this seems an unfortunate development. Ideally discussions here should be conducted in good faith to clarify and promote a shared understanding. When egos get involved and folks stop engaging with one another in good faith, it's always to the detriment of the conversation. At the end of the day, we're all here because we share an interest in China's military-industrial developments.

I think discussing things on the basis of good faith is a prerequisite for any sort of genuine conversation, but this forum, especially in the flagship threads (though not necessarily talking about this thread), should have some expectation among longer time users to be able to do some legwork of their own, and also for newer users to not ask basic questions and do some of their own research first. Or at the least, if one is asking a basic question, to put some effort into their question so that people can recognize they've put in some effort to finding their answer in the first place, before asking it here, rather than treating this forum like a PLA section of Quora.

I remember when I first started posting here a nearly two decades ago, I had spent a few years reading up all of the publicly available information on PLA matters first, and then lurking here for a few years, before I started posting and asking questions so that I would hopefully not be too "basic".

And these days there is much more information and news on the PLA than back then.

Great, it will be done.

Maybe we could introduce some kind of cooling down period...

It would be more useful for people to generally just bring more competency and care with what they post and contribute. Disagreements can exist without bordering onto outright hostility and insult throwing, and that is fairly common on this forum and others.

However it also requires people to recognize when they are incorrect and to take it on the chin, or if they want to minimize the extent to which they are incorrect, they would benefit from posting in a less confident manner and maybe introduce a bit of self-doubt into their character.

In any case this is my last comment on the matter here.
