I've heard that the 055s have slightly different-looking funnels depending on which shipyard they were produced in. What's the reasoning behind this difference?

There is a funnel cap on front funnel of the Dalian builds. Probably checking whether it helps to guide and disperse hot exhaust away from superstructure and equipment.
