Ruijin is not a regional city(地区级城市), so according to the PLA Navy warship naming regulation, it might not be chosen for a destroyer.

108 is said to be Xianyang 咸阳.

Just curious have we seen pictures of type 055s firing missiles from their VLSs? I remember only scenes of the main battery, 1130 and HQ-10.

VLS is not the advantage here

the one advantage Type 055 will have other large destroyers is the railgun

railgun is what will define the Type 055 not the VLS

That will have to wait until new 055As come out no? I don't think they have the electric capacity for a railgun currently. Then again a fully electric 055 has a lot more than just railgun too.

I believe China is more modest. US has its own agenda to classify 055 as cruiser.
