I couldn't help but notice there wasn't a single helicopter between 3 warships of this size?
Type 055 has 2 hangers, the tanker has 1 and the Type 052D has one thats potential for 4 helicopters
China and Russia aren't exactly the best of friends. And judging from the Chinese interest in the arctic ocean, thus conflict of interest, the chances of their relations further improve is rather slim. Hence, investing in an unproven weapons system (that is Poliment-Redut) of a nation one challenges at multiple theatres is redundant.Can't they adopt S-400's 9M96E missile
Compared to the US-Russian and the US-Sino relationship, the Russian-Sino relationship is one of close friendship and cooperation in face of increasing US aggression and escalation. Prior to WW1 the UK and the US were not the best of buddies but a common threat to their interests eventually united them. I see the same more or less happening with Russia and China, a common threat needs to be deterred and if necessary defeated, so they combine and coordinate to confront this global security challenge head-on.
