It seems possible that the main radar panels will not be in the 'traditional' locations right under the bridge. At the base of the main mast seems to be a possibility but those areas look rectangular rather than square-shaped, and with less surface area. But I do detect what looks like an Arleigh Burke IIA 'panel hump' where the rearward-facing panels are elevated above the forward-facing panels and raised above the level of the bridge.
I'd like to see a UAV hangar and 1 or even 2 UUV garages on the 055, a la USS Momsen. I don't think either of these are out of reach for the PLAN and both have good utility on especially a larger warship that can afford the space. I also like an X/L-band radar combo; X-band so that the ship can use SARH instead of or in addition to ARH for missile guidance, and L-band so that stealth performance is improved compared to S- and X-band, but not so indiscriminant in target location like UHF and VHF that the radar is more "early warning" and less "volume search". "Early warning" sounds almost like a pejorative when used to describe radars. Kind of like "regime" when used by Western journalists to describe some countries' governments. In terms of software, something like a PLAN version of the USN's Cooperative Engagement Capability would be one of the biggest force multipliers the PLAN could achieve. In terms of ordinance, the only one that would really make the 055 shine would be a SAM like an HHQ-9X with multi-mode radar engagement capability and SARH/ARH guiance, IR sensor, and passive home-on-jam. Is this too much to ask??? lol
