Is that modules for the second unit at the front while the first is all but completed length-wise minus the superstructure?
Yes, that is essentially what the CGI seems to be showing.

It is know now approx. the definitive design, the shape of the vessel ?
I see it exist others

I hope soon the goodno, none of them are fully accurate.
the crease of the ship is lower than the main deck. the hull kind of resembles the geometry of the Italian FREMM class extended, based on what we can see of 055 so far
If that CGI is accurate I think we are looking at 128 VLS cells and a new, larger sonar array....No. 2 055 has View attachment 34145 appeared like this:
dumb question: are you comparing to #1 055, or some other ship (like Type 052D)??If that CGI is accurate I think we are looking at 128 VLS cells and a new, larger sonar array....
I'm looking at the sideways arrangement of the rear VLS on the #1 055 along with what appears to be a fairly large-sized bow sonar dome.dumb question: are you comparing to #1 055, or some other ship (like Type 052D)??

Actually, why I think they have build a roof over the hull is to give some form of protection from the coming winter and not delay the build schedule because of weather, since there might be a second hull coming. Winter in Dalian after all is extreme.? No... my rhetorical question was to say that the presence of a roof or lack of roof is not important.
I am begining to think Blitzo is right, that this thing will certainly be in the 12000 tonne and above weight class. Look at the size of the bow in comparison to the two 052D which is closer to the camera,I for one will be very disappointed if it carries only 96 to 112 VLS tubes as reported.
