Btw how many new frigates have been launched or are nearing launch now? I have the impression there are quite a few of them now.

I'm beginning to think that that gap between the radar and the mast is by designed and may not be enclosed afterall. I really hope not because it just looks very unfinished and 'unsleek'.

The 054B fitting out, viewed from a new angle. Location unknown, probably at HZ. Posted by @sugar_wsnbn on Twitter.

Okay, I definitely need to improve my skills at scrutinizing details in photos. Need to correct myself here.

That 054B FFG is definitely from Huangpu-Wenchong, not Hudong-Zhonghua.

Notice the seemingly shorter aft mast? That section, due to the roof height restriction inside the assembly hall (which is only present at Huangpu-Wenchong), cannot be installed closer to its final form until after the 054B has been launched. The 054B at Hudong-Zhonghua, meanwhile, faced no such restriction.

So, yes, the 2nd 054B FFG has been launched yesterday/today, in case anyone is still unsure.

Is this the first view of the rear rotating radar uncovered? Looks like the one on 075 LHD.
Yes, I believe so.

Why the black-grey paint on aft radar seeing there would be a shroud over it anyways? 0.0
Material properties, perhaps?

2 launched, with at least another 2 undergoing advanced-stage assembling work.

Was this fitted out before or after 003 CV?
Curious as we have not seen the AESA equipped CIWS on any other ships yet, but I was surprised it was not on this one.

Probably just a tarp wrapped around the array.

Why's that?

I don't think there's any relevant new information which would change that idea that it's meant to be enclosed.

Maybe the one on 003 Fujian was just for show before anything was installed? I mean the current 1130 with pause doppler x-band is already effective at engaging multiple supersonic anti-ship missiles, so long as the incoming projectiles were under Mach 4.
