I don't think we will see quadpacked HQ-16, too big. I think will be new SAM which I believe still under development perhaps based on current SAM
Yeah best case scenario is for 32 UVLS cells and the quadpacked 555 missile
I just meant in case the 555 rumours turn out to be false and they decide to stick the upgrading HQ-16

My guess is that they will use both. The upgraded HQ-16 should have significantly greater range.
Its theoretically logical. Its not unusual to have mixed VLS systems, one using a smaller VLS for SAMs and the other a larger VLS for antiship missiles. The Kirovs are an example. So is the Admiral Grigorovich and Gorshkov classes. The KDX-II and III class destroyers, like the Sejong The Great. And the RN's Type 26.

Have you got any link regarding 555 missile, I've never heard it before?
I think there is a good chance to have 40 UVLS cells or even 48
No link, but its been rumoured here on the forum for quite some time. Nicknamed 555 because its supposedly 50km range, mach 5 and another 5 that I can't remember
