054/A FFG Thread II

And I think most of us have lost count of the 054As now, they're somewhere in the 12-15 region I think, if we include ones currently under construction.

Personally I'm waiting for 054B to emerge now. As capable as 054A is, they frankly could and should put in some more powerful engines and SAMs, and replace or supplement the sea eagle radar with a mini 052C aesa for use in cvbgs.

12 054A's have been identified for certain, 7 from HP and 5 from HD. There is a possibility that there is a 6th hull at HD but that has yet to be confirmed.

We can only confirm 5 054A at HD shipyard as previously mentioned.

Here are a couple of new photos of the 4th unit. Its number still has not been painted yet.

Very good! And it is leaving the shipyard, no doubt bound for Zhoushan-Dinghai to join the 6th Destroyer Flotilla (15th Frigate Squadron).

Permit me to point out that I suggested a March-April delivery date in post # 849.

the fifth 054A from HD shipyard is almost ready to be launched.
HD is quite busy these days. I wonder if this will be the last 054A we see from HD shipyard for a while.

I am wondering whether we might see HD build another one yet and carry on the pattern of them building 1 054A and 1 071? Just a thought.
