Do they really need a sales pitch if they could sell lesser weapons to them?
I think it would really depends on China whether they would like to offer the same systems used by the Chinese navy. They are now selling the F-22 frigate which is not even used by the Chinese navy.

With Pakistan we always know well in advance what has been ordered, so there will be no surprises.
Its quite possible Pakistan will order 054A's (if they are offered) as it is currently looking for a medium-sized frigate. But I wouldn't expect that order to come until well after the first 3 F-22P's have been delivered. I would think by the time Pakistan orders 054A, PLAN will have started ordering a newer frigate (or 054B).
If we look at past orders, Pakistan expressed interest in the F-22P some 10 years ago, and the first ship wasn't delivered until this year. So if the 054A impress the Pakistani navy, they may express an interest in it, and the contract might not be signed until 5-7+ years from now, with the first ship delivering in... 2019? >_>
I doubt they have the money to buy it. They already have difficulties raise fund for 250 JF-17. Not to mention 054A frigate.
Piority will always be Army and Air Force. IMHO, Pakistan Navy decision to buy Scopene submarine has already strengthen its navy attack. But unfortunately, Indian purchase the same sub too. And it has Kilo subs.
PN is looking for future ships in 4K+ ton class, 054 is one of the contenders along with German and other European ships. Sales are based on soft loans, either European or chinese, so payment is spread out over 10 odd years.
If Chinese are reluctent to sell 054, its not a loss for PN as European are very keen to sell as a package deal along with Subs ( more then likely the German U-boats, not French.) Then again the ship PN selects will have to meet its needs, so will 054 series will fit that requirement ? we should know perhaps very soon, and perhaps a similar package deal as European are offering shipd/subs and other items.

054A is definitely up for export. I don't see any German boats at 4k class. The only ones out there in this range are La Fayette variants, LCS, Krivak variants and 054 series. You can take your own guesses on what options PN has.
