There are two shipyards. Each of the shipyards have produced 3 or 4 ships.

The 4th pair. Right now we're up to 8 confirmed. I surmise there probably will be 12 in total, 4 ships for each of 3 fleets.

I noticed something odd from these new photos. It appears that the edge of the bow on the 4th pair of 054A aren't folded like the previous pair, but instead the bow edge are naturally tapered out like the earlier 054A's. Why are they kept going back and forth withe the bow design?

That may not be the case. The bow section isnt even finished yet, there is lots of work to be done. The folded bits may be added later on, as they're positioned over the level of the main deck, and they basically function as a fence or a wall on the previous ships.

Some more pictures of the 4th 054A in HP shipyard. This one actually is proceeding a lot faster than I expected. In fact, I'm kind of amazed that it is this far along already. HD shipyard's 4th unit still hasn't appeared anywhere yet, so looks like HP is taking a nice lead.

Also, I got news that the 054A that was part of the 2nd fleet to Somalia is going over to Pakistan. Looks like they might be doing this as part of a sales pitch.

In the future, we might be all excited over new 054A's for PLAN, only to find out at the very end that they are for Pakistan.
