Kroko,Kroko again they have mass produced 14 of 054A series and 6 of 052C Assuming 2 GT for 054 and 4 GT for 052 then they need 52 GT the size of LM 2500 which is around 26 MW

Logic would tell us they must solve all the problem or they will end up with a lot of repair So far we haven't heard of 054 type stranded in the red sea because of engine malfunction

Since when did 054's get gas turbines?

If the PLAN were to build this frigate, it would be a very nice and very powerful FFG with a good sized main gun, 48 VLS cells, spaces for two helos, strong close in anti-air, I am assuming torpedoes too, and good eight missile anti-surface.

It would probably displace in excess of 6,000 tons and be closer to a destroyer in terms of its armament.

But the laser CIWS is something that they are simply not prepared for yet, and would necessitate a significant, huge, leap forward in propulsion development that is not really mentioned here...in terms of providing the amount of electricity necessary.

So, I think that the PLAN is clearly happy with their Type 054A and they seem to continue to build them in serial production.

A vessel such as this, if built, is probably still a number of years out. Is there any "official" PLAN documentation on this? Or is this something a private individual has devised? ie. Is there even a Chinese shipbuilding company proposing this design?

From the cg, the 16 cell VLS at the back are for anti-submarine missiles, so this is more of a ASW variant. (Though I thought HY3 is more of a AShM but this is just a cg)

the laser cannon in the 2nd pic clearly place it in the fan boy art business. though, I think it's time the fan boys to get into the gaming industry. pretty awesome 3D skills.
