It's been said 052D is a bit of a warm up for DL before they move onto 055.

JN will naturally start building 055s earlier than DL, but by how long is another matter.

and JN and DL will probably both be producing 052Ds for a period as well

Who cares about new launches. How about a few commissionings. In the first 9 month of this year not a single Type 052C or Type 054A has been commissioned.

Take it easy. Till now it was commissioned 7 056 PLUS 1 052D.and it still 3 mounths. if it can commission 1 052C and 2 054A in this 3 mouths . Still can count 7 056 +2 054A+1 052C +1 052D in 2014. Not too bad for me.

Has anyone actual proof that D5 has been launched?........because i don't think it has!

No official Chinese news of said event.........from what i understand, someone saw a side view of a fully painted 052D at JN, and assumed it was a recent launching, but was more likely to of been one of previous 052D's being outfitted.
Remember, D4 was only launched around Spring time, so hardly unlikely, that a 7000 tonne vessel could of been completely assembled in just such an incredibly short time!

There was a photo of D5 with the standard decorative red tassels which indicates they're about to launch. But for some reason we haven't had many pictures of the fitting out basin lately

Yes....'Bltizo'.........i agree with your reasoning, that the launch of D5 shouldnt be too far away. ;)

Actually my reasoning is that D5 has already been launched. The last photo of the building hall shows a less complete hull than the picture of the supposed D5 that was ready to launch in post 386, so assuming that hull really was D5, then the only logical explanation is that we simply haven't had any photos of the basin lately and that the photo you quoted is actually D6

If this picture is real then it's certainty D6 can't be D5 it's too underdeveloped

I would be really surprised if no pictures of the launch of D5 were seen it would be the first time such a huge development has been missed
