It's interesting that away from ESC and SCS, PLAN is welcomed for providing global public goods, while close to home, it's seen as the cudgel of a bully nation.

Skin wrinkles. Does it means that structure fatigues or failures, especially in the middle section?

That's an HDR photo with additional post processing, which makes any multi-piece, large steel surface look like crumpled napkin.

The 'wrinkles' are the result of expansion and contraction from temperature changes, which is absolutely normal and unavoidable.

But to the uninformed masses, that could easily been explained away as poor workmanship...very common excuse found on Taiwan-based forums and stuff from Kanwa...

Here's another example.

An HDR photo of the HMS Daring, which I manipulated further with increased sharpness, contrast, exposure, and saturation. The result is that the main mast now looks like the surface of a tranquil pond.

So there you have it: these 'wrinkles' are absolutely normal for a ship with welded metallic hull.

P.S. Kroko, I hope you have learned something new today.

That's why we are here at sinodefenceforum, where purist military enthusiasts can freely learn, contribute, and discuss Chinese military developments without being encumbered by politics, prejudice, and agendas.

It's little wonder that the quality of analyses and knowledge of the forum users here are leagues ahead of those at military tabloids such as Wired Danger Room, Medium, and Kanwa.

Great warships!

But the quality of water of the Huangpu River and the air quality is really really really bad...

Looking at it alone makes me wonder how the hell does the 23 million+ people living in Shanghai can survive it...

Sigh.

For one, Shanghai is at the mouth of the Yangtze River, and Yangtze River has been carrying sediments to deposit at the Yangtze River Delta for as long as its existence, so even with the Three Gorges Dam and whatever cleanup (overdue if you ask me) it's still gonna be muddy.

And air...the only thing I can say is that at least coastal cities have clearer days when wind blows from the sea, inland cities have to wait till Chinese New Year week to have clear skies.

Back to topic...

So much as I know the 052B/C/D hull is comparatively small by current-gen DDG standard, put that next to a Slava-class CG the size difference is even more obvious...

>>>>>>>>>> MODERATOR'S ANNOUNCEMENT <<<<<<<<<<

Many SD members will notice that they have less total posts.

This is my fault.

I was editing an older PLAN Carrier Thread (one where BD Popeye had merged several older threads into one - all of them several years old). While editing and deleting some of my own redundant posts...somehow I deleted the entire thread.

I profusely apologize. I myself lost several hundred posts as a result. We are looking to see if the WebMaster has a backup

why a comedy ? .... China is not at war and not in hurry, it'd be better to delay a bit to make sure everything is in order and good shape and working perfectly. 1-3 months delay is normal, even 1 year is not uncommon ... not a big deal
