17 identified (12 x JNCX and 5 x DL)
Since DL has 2 dry docks full the final 18th should come from JNCX
We should see 18th launched 2019
Apparently Type 052E appears next year along with Type 052B and Type 055A/B
Next few years really exciting new generation of warships coming online

Fan made Type 052E interpretation. This has the Type 364 replaced by a rotating X band phase array radar inside the dome, Type 517 replaced by an L-band phase array, the beam widened to accommodate two hangers. He has an interesting funnel design but I don't see the point of adding slanted canisters though, and its strange he had it with the canisters for the YJ-12, and then Mk 141 looking canisters for the Harpoon on the other model (or did some ship maker actually propose an export version of the Type 052?). The Type 052X series have been popular with Chinese fans, they speculate about the inevitability of its discontinuation mainly seeing that 64 VLS isn't enough, but don't want to see it go just yet.
There is zero chance for any 052 with widened hull. At that point, it'd be a new class. There's also very small chance for a lengthned hull, and if that does happen, it will be by a few meters at most. IF 052E does happen, it will most likely be the same hull with somewhat different superstructure (probably not bigger differences than D brought compared to C). Somewhat different internals, due to new propulsion and possibly less crew. Biggest changes would be sensors, possibly some weapons. And quite possibly new all-electric propulsion *if* that proves to be mature enough, after being fielded on 054b and 055 mod.
