I am in Shanghai right now, and LOTS of people here literally hate her :rolleyes:! Yes end of discussion. Back to 052D. So despite that Wang Yi said that China will not participate in strikes against ISIS, I am wondering if Xi changes his mind, can the 052Ds be the cruise missile carrier in this case? Say lodging 32+ cruise missile at ISIS targets in less than half an hour from the Persian Gulf?

The multi-purpose VLS aboard the 052D should be able to support the CJ-10. Of course, political feasibility and the need to undertake an anti-ISIS operation are a different tale.

Josh, SD is not a political forum. Political statements like this only invite more, counter opinions...and then that conversation derails the thread.

Please do not post political comments like this. I know it is not easy in the election season...but we each have to try and avoid it.

Again, just because we haven't seen a picture or video of it does not mean it hasn't been tested. It was years after the 052Cs were launched before we saw HQ9 launch pictures and videos surface.

It's almost a certainty that such tests have not only already been conducted, but also that they were successful.

Yes Wolf and always they talk very few... but it is a " political weapon" a LACM different as other then possible we get something and more soon as we think if they want do propaganda as by example Russians with her new Kaliber.

This CJ-10 normaly also used by 093G.

Well I just like to have something solid (preferably an actual launch, better a slo-mo clip of the LACM score a hit on the test target) to go with...or as an alternative, having Vietnam file an official protest when the South Sea Fleet begin to field 052D in its fleet (which practically makes the whole of Hanoi within striking range, even if the launch ship stay well within Chinese waters), which would be an indication that the PLAN finally has long-range, ship-borne land attack capability for the first time, and it makes those unfriendly neighbours feel uneasy...something along that line.

China does not require 052D based LACMs to put Hanoi within the range of LACMs... TEL based LACMs based even 500 km away from the border would be capable of putting Hanoi in range and then some.

Also, 052Ds already are in service with the SSF -- the SSF's 2nd destroyer flotilla would be the first to have a full destroyer division of four 052Ds in the entire Navy anyway. But I think it is unlikely that Vietnam or any other nation will protest at the deployment of 052Ds even if/when it is confirmed that they can fire LACMs.
