Re: DDG 052C Thread

052B Guangzhou is going to ST. Petersburg, official release of it's size is only 5850 ton full load, this means 052C must also be smaller than ppl first thought it is, makes it basicly in the same size as the Spainish Álvaro de Bazán class, which is somewhere around 6250 ton.

Actually, it'll visit France, UK & Spain as well on this 87 days trip.
Not much else in the link so I won't translate.

If anything, the 5850-ton displacement of the 052B shows that the Chinese are making marked progress in ship design. The ship's role in the fleet is similar to that of the Russian Sovremenny, which is 2000 tons heavier. Both ships have an identical number of SAMs and similar ASW capabilities, but with 16 YJ-83 AShM (range 200+ km?), the 052B certainly outclasses the 956EM in the anti-ship category.

I am curious to find out the true capacity of the 052B/C hull. Apparently the Chinese have adopted the modular hull design much in the same way the US did with the DD963/DDG993/CG47 hull. The 052C is certainly larger than the 052B with the phased array radar and 48 heavier SAMs. It would be interesting to see how much more weight can the 052B/C hull accommodate.

lol, wow, now you are a magician. You can guess the increase from 052B to 052C. Let's get it straight here, the sov is 156 m long and 17 m wide and it's full displacement has been listed as almost 8000 tonne and maximum load of 8480 tonne

now 052B with length of 155 m and 16 m
As for Bazan, length 146.7 or 133 and width 18.6.
so it all comes to how fully loaded it is.

lol, pls don't put word into my mouth, first of all, you never seems to read my post carefully before replying, I never claimed myself as a magician so niether should anyone else do that for me, and I never claimed I know the exact weight of 052C, as EVERY number we have on 052C here is a nothing more but a GUESS, but here we DO have a official release of the size and weight of 052B, it is as close as you can ever come, now the exact weight of a ships will change even if you have a extra passenger or two, or a extra temporarily installed device, but there is a standard full displacement weight for a ship and that's where I started from, and I compared it with the F100 Álvaro de Bazán class which have a STANDARD full weight with 6250 ton, as I believe these 2 ships should have similer weight, and I think it's a educated guess.

You don't have to agree with me, but at least come up with a good enough reason to disagree, as you are the moderator here on this site, if my input is somehow not welcome, just say it, and I will be gone.

I'm putting words into your mouth? you put
"this means 052C must also be smaller than ppl first thought it is, makes it basicly in the same size as the Spainish Álvaro de Bazán class, which is somewhere around 6250 ton"
when people write means and must be, it usually points to claiming something.
As for not coming up with reasons to agree with you, what do you call this:
"now 052B with length of 155 m and 16 m
As for Bazan, length 146.7 or 133 and width 18.6."
does that look like the same size to you?

Fine, bad choice of word then, size = weight.
Happy now?

Re: DDG 052C Thread

^ Huh? Are you implying that they removed the anti-ship missile cannisters that were there before?

That means they're fitting in something new?!
