Ah yes my numbering was mixed up trying to type on iPhone!
Certainly the hall with D4 has ramped up the rate, D3 was done just 7 months after D2 at those speeds we should expect D4 to hit the water maybe Feb/March time and then D5 moves in and it also hits the water by Oct/Nov this year with D6 entering into the hall by the very end of this year, I dont think they will slow modules are in the shipyards
I expect to see modules for D6 around June/July time and if we are lucky modules for D7 should appear at the very end of this year, after that D8 the last unit will likely follow
What happens in another shipyards well I won't speculate as for now JNCX is doing the number on DDG construction if we think ESF was lucky to get 150-153 then SSF will be even better with 4 x Type 052D added to 170 and 171
It also means each fleet with have a AEGIS DDG Flotilla, a very good air defence network

No, 8 x Type 052D added to 6 x Type 052C plus all the other "modern" DDG (we know which ones they are) will form 6 x DDG Flotillas or two per fleet with atleast one DDG in each fleet being AEGIS capable

There is a train of thought gaining momentum that we may see 12 052Ds before everything is said and done, 9 hulls for JN, 3 hulls for DL.
This of course doesn't include the 055s yet to be revealed.
In any case, we have quite a number of large surface combatants to savour before we reach the bottom of the barrel.

The two DDGs per fleet model suits current maritime defense requirements, but China might need more assets to meet increased naval build up by her neighbors.

Well if you add in 2 x Type 054A Flotillas per fleet and 3 x Type 056 per fleet to the 2 x DDG Flotillas per fleet then you have 28 very modern warships in each fleet would they go top heavy and build 3 x DDG per fleet I don't think so that's just over kill PLAN dont do that
When production shifts to Type 055 CG they might add 2 to each fleet and build 6 units or if they are really ambitious they will form a CG Flotilla in each fleet it has more to offer the hull is more modern over the Type 052C/D

IMO, the PLAN going 3 flotilla's each for DDG & FFG for their 3 fleets. Please find below the brief description:
For FFGs -
They have 21 (054 & 054As) in water plus 14 (053H3 & 053H3Gs) which makes the total of 35 & we all know that there is at least 1 (054A) to go if not more. So that makes very capable 3 Flotilla's for each fleet.
For DDGs -
At current PLAN have 4 (052Ds) 4th will soon launch, 6 (052Cs), 2 (052Bs), 2 (052s), 2 (051Cs), 1 (051B) plus 4 SOUVs. this will make 21 DDGs, so their might be possibility that number 052Ds will jump to 19 ships in order to have 3 Flotilla's for each fleet.

We shouldn't be too restricted to the flotilla model of projecting surface combatants, because we don't know how fast the PLAN will retire some of the older ships, nor do we even know if they're going to maintain the 4 DDG/4 FFG flotilla. For instance they might expand flotilla size or expand flotilla numbers.
Also, not every flotilla has 4 DDGs and 4 FFGs, and older FFGs including 054 and 054A in time may be taken from the frontline destroyer flotillas to secondary frigate squadrons. But that is many years away.
Trying to extrapolate numbers of 052D from old ships in existing flotillas is a bad way to do it. Looking for credible rumours is still the best name of the game IMO. we can't expect well rounded numbers because the PLAN has a long way to modernize and expand.
Also I think 055 will be part of destroyer flotillas.
