Feels to me like a development setback for a new sensor sweet.

Is there any visual display of how those life rafts deploy, expand, and work?

Franco-Russe is a very valuable member and has more knowledge and experience than most of us if he says something then it must be some good reason to do so

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MODERATOR's INSTRUCTIONS <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

This entire "How much Russian technology/equipment has China gotten and how dependent are they on it now," argument was already carried out on this thread. It is a senseless, meaningless argument at this point.

China got a lot of equipment and technology from the Russians. There can be no denying this.

China has also taken the technology and knowledge, now innovated on it, and produced a lot of their own indigenous capabilities. There can be no denying this.

That is all that really needs be said. So let it end there.

This thread is about the Type 52 Destroyers. Get back on topic to issues specifically related to that.

The meaningless argument posts will be deleted.

Thanks guys.

I know it can get heated, and I know everyone has their own positions on such issues.

But, when it reaches a point that it has completely taken over the thread and detracted it from its purpose, and when emotions begin running high, it becomes a detriment to the forum.

18 or 24 shot either way is there automated reloading or is it manual?
I still feel that the design could have used one more Type 730 just in case.

IMO one benefit of a 24 round HQ-10 launcher, is that you wouldn't need a re-loader like the 8-round HQ-7.

You could theoretically mount a reloader beneath the HQ-10 launcher (though that might not be practical for some of the smaller ships with limited internal volume).

Well, when you look at the location on the Type 052D, the question is simply whether the helicopter hanger extends back that far. If it does, there will be no reloads. if not, then it is possible, depending on what is underneath it.

Since this is a new design, with the 24 round launcher a part from the onset, if they wanted a reload, they would have designed it that way and there would be room underneath.

OTOH, it is very easy to also believe that they may have planned that 24 missiles would be enough for any single deployment and they could be reloaded between missions.

only 1 way to find out! Need pictures of the interior of the hanger! LOL ... personally I do not believe it's reloadable. Besides if a 052D has to ever unload all 24 in a single event we probably have a more things we need to worry about.

In any case, she's a real beauty. How close does she come to the Burke's capabilities?
