This is one pretty ship.
I wonder why they don't cover up the smoke stack.
Where are the target illuminator or engagement radars on the 052D? Do the AESA panels also serve as illuminator or engagement radar? Does the Chinese missile use semi active homing, active homing, or track via missile?

Probably for a ship of this size a lot more will have to be made stealthy in addition to the smokestack to make a difference in overall stealthiness.
Also, just a guess, since this is an air defense ship maybe it is impractical to make it stealthy when its mission profile forces it to not be stealthy.
Even on the 052C there was no seperate target illuminator for the HHQ-9 SAM. Most sources indicate that the HQ-9 is TVM, implying that the Type 346 AESA can handle the target illumination as well.
The missile equipped on the 052D would most probably be TVM or even active guided as well.
