I'm sorry but I don't see where that's coming from, PJ-38 is far more stealthy.
By the way, PJ38 is
not merely a reverse engineered AK130. I hate to quote wikipedia, but the 052D wiki entry actually has a very nice detailed section regarding the main gun, where it claims the AK130 was reverse engineered successfully years ago, but the a gene for gene clone of a cold war gun did not meet PLAN requirements, so they went back to the drawing board to improve it, and came back with PJ-38, basically a modernized AK-130 able to fire a variety of extended and guided rounds.
It's all anecdotal (unless you want to go through the sources and verify them) but let's use our critical thinking and ask if any of this sounds unreasonable, and consider if the reverse of this would be reasonable.
Seems to be a PLAN fetish of some sort. Maybe used by sailors to clean the turret?
