No, this is entirely domestic but still in an early phase where core technologies are being developed. Liming, however, is actively engaged with the Russians, Ukrainians, and Japanese to develop advanced gas turbine technologies, including contracting foreign technical personnel.

The ukrainians must be certainly helping the chinese, but i wasnt aware that russia was also helping them too. Are they military grade engines? Iam very surprised with the japanese helping the chinese develop engines. Do you have links for this info?

China hired many formerly low paid engineers from Ukrain & Russia. They were working for the money, not the countries helping China.

Not to mention the fact the 052D in the building hall is elevated compared to the 052C in the water.

I think the poster's original intent could be in reference to previous pics of hull 7s launch pictures.

Both Russian and Japanese cooperation are between official organizations, in the case of the Japanese it's Hitachi, I believe they will only work on the civilian application of those gas turbines, such as power generation or pressurizing gas pipes.

That depends on how "dual purpose" the technologies are, and it's this gray area that everybody exploits.
