I have to say the shape of main gun does look ugly, like a baby carriage.

A nice aerial photo of the centreline hangar -- proves that the module we saw a few weeks ago was indeed hull 9 (052D hull 3).

Now for a good clear shot of the aft VLS...

Yes, sorry, mistype, I meant to say the new VLS on the 052Ds. All indications are the new built 052C+ still use the same old cold launch revolvers.

Not so sure about that.

(not so biased video), an unidentified ship fires (at 0:41), what the video claims to be the HHQ-9, which from my googlefu, is only in service on the Type 052C. My first guess is that the ship in question isn't a Type 052C (my googlefu's image doesn't look alike with the ship in question), so, perhaps a case of mistaken identity?

Well from all the non dubious pictures and video clips we've seen of 052C firing HHQ-9, HHQ-9 is indeed cold launched. 0:41 can be any ship, and at such distance I wonder if one can even tell the difference between cold and hot launch.

Funnily enough, the missile that video stupidly claims to be S-300 at 0:27 is actually HHQ-9 being fired off 052C...

And 052C+ (052C hulls 3-6) do use the same cold launch VLS as the 170 and 171. They certainly look identical from the numerous photos we've gotten of them over the last two years or so.

---

Also, someone said a few posts before that there have been no pics of 052C+s (hulls 3-6) which showed their VLS -- which is not true, we've had many.
here's one of what is believed to be hull 3 undergoing trials that were posted on CDF a week or so ago:

And hulls 4-6. All cold launch, fixed revolver VLS

And there are even more as months go back...

I don't know if this is accurate. That latest pic actually makes the 052D look smaller compared to the 052Cs at the top.

This Is The Best One Out There, So Far

Yes, it's the best blur out there. I am surprised the camera guy has access to a helicopter and clearance to fly all over the ship but don't have access to a camera capable of taking a clear picture. He definitely needs a slapping as I suggested before because the silly games is not necessary.

No, more likely an opportunity shot from a windows passenger's seat on a jetliner, just like those ex-Varyag pics we used to get.

Perhaps you're too young to be informed, but China's airspace is one of the most restricted in the world, that makes private ownership of planes and helicopters largely restricted to commercial, route-flying type, not civil aviation that you can rent and fly anywhere as you want it. Such choke-hold is what stagnate China's aviation industry - while open-sky policy is on the roadmap but that'd be another decade before it becomes a reality.
