Lol, you are just relaying rumours you see on chinese bbs.

We haven't even seen the first 052D yet, lol. You think you can predict the future? This kind of stuff can change all the time. For example, 054A got a much larger order size than originally planned. Until we see the ships, we don't know. Let's just say 052C stop at 6, that means they will probably all get commissioned by early 2014. Using your theory, 8 would be the minimum number for 052D. Consider these are the first of class, they would not be all launched until 2016 at the earliest. You think anyone can say definitively what PLAN plans are for that time. And what is exactly AB class? It's just something "big shrimps" say to make fanboys like yourself think, oh, we can catch up to America in 5 years, great.

Let's just enjoy seeing all of the new ships coming out of JN and the evolution between the newer ships coming out.

Ｔesting ship-launch cruise missile, not that surprising, more like a matter of when. 052C got the space for it though that'd mean swap out the YJ-62, gave up some (if not all) of its anti-ship payload for land-attack mission profile.

if the previous table is correct then i'd be quite impressed. the type 058, which is larger than the ticonderoga at 9900 tonnes, would be launched around 2017 while the first type 052d will be launched around 2013, which would still be 40 years behind the united states but catching up.

So far the most sensible post I've seen so far is that table posted a while back. It makes much sense for the PLAN to launch the Type 058 after the Type 052D, the latter being a testbed IMO.

well since there are 16 Luda's to replace, which look like pre-historic relics from the Jurrasic period :D, it would make sense to have 16 x Type 052C/D

The Luda class DDG are even smaller and less capable than the 054A FFGs, so it's practical to replace some of them with frigates and the rest with destroyers.

Luda class DDG is more than enough to humiliate the phillipine navy, vietnamese navy or Indonesian navy :)

Indeed. 5 have already been replaced, since 105, 106 and 161 were decommissioned in 2008, 107 and 131 in February 2012.
