Biden to press, 4:30pm ET on Sunday
Q: Have you spoken to Blinke?
Biden: I’ve communicated through Sullivan with him. He did a hell of a job. We're on the right trail here
Q: Do you feel like progress was made during this meeting?
Biden: I don’t "feel." You know it’s been made
If MSM publications are factual, bad reports on China and Russia are fine with me. Must be practical and keep an open mind, so would check all sides of the story. In a way, this is true as the US provides more opportunities and more wealthy than EU countries. However, the US also has lot more problems than EU nations.
US has one of the worst health care system in the world even though it has many of the best hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. Many older people with health insurance couldn't afford treatment and force into bankruptcy. Life expectancy is lowest among OECD. Public transport is bad. Many of the most important business districts are filled with crimes that forcing many people to commute in long distance. Regulations and enforcement of food and drug safety have been deteriorated due to corruption and corporate greed. Young Americans have much more likely to do drugs which have in turn feeding the problem of homeless and crimes.
Every MSM articles are spinning false statements when talking about China. I have seldom seeing any positive reports about China and Russia. Regardless of what the expert said, it is more important to what the MSM trying to induce its audience with.
He was painting the US as the aggressive actor and the editor convey it as a win and China loose.Idk what u mean the guy quoted was being very hostile to China. He sincerely believes that 4 additional bases the Americans can visit in the Phillipines equals a "China containment" lol.
And China can just rescind major finished military hardware non-support to Russia whenever USA threatens to attack again. So there are a few problems with making a deal with the US that isn't immediate A for B in a transaction that is non-reversible in nature such as money for good.
1. Getting an American agreement that they will behave in such a way in the long term is like selling a $2K TV to a hoodrat who writes you a promise on a Burger King napkin signed with hand-drawn gang sign that he'll be back every week to give you $200 until he's paid up.
2. It's China's right not to be annexed and it's also China's right to support whatever nation it sees fit. You don't trade what's yours for something else that's yours; even if the situation is that China has an unresolved problem in Taiwan that temporarily impairs its unity/sovereignty in a de facto manner, it's the principle of the matter.
3. Anything that the US willingly gives you on Taiwan is worthless, because the power is with the giver as he can give and take dependent on his whims. Anything that is meaningful can only be something that you earn by force and no one can take away.
There is no deal worth making with the US. The only way to make progress with America is to grow your power and push them back on all fronts. Ignore their pleas for deals or talks; they're nothing but diplomatic squealing and squirming. They only wish to distract China from what they fear most, which is China digging into its development and getting stronger.
Which is why I said to support Russia in whatever manner China and Russia saw fit to agree on.
I hope so. It's such a mess that I don't follow it anymore. I just want to see big events and results. I firmly believe that Russia's depth and with its historical pattern of fighting wars, that it will emerge victorious. My main concern is if they will be absolute in their follow through and either incorporate all of Ukraine into Russia or find another way to make it so that Ukraine becomes ingrained as a Russian asset and NATO can never rear its ugly head there again.
From my experiences and this is all for the moment, it could very well change in the future. Yes there have been quite a few Chinese expats heading back to China recently. They mostly fall in the bracket of being less savy and educated at a subpar university, laid off from their job, not being able to find a new oppurtunity, and thus not able to get their visa in order, so they have no choice. There are those of course who have to go back for family reasons. As for the ones who speak English at a professional level, and either have an advanced degree or a bachelor's from an Ivy League, I hate to break it, but most of them would prefer to stay in America.Assuming a significant portion of people on this forum live in Europe, Canada or America. How many is willing to pack up and leave.
China backs Argentina’s Falklands claim, calls for end to ‘colonial thinking’
- •Beijing envoy warns special committee on decolonisation of ‘serious implications’ for international order of hegemonism and power politics
- •Meeting adopts resolution calling on Britain and Argentina to resume negotiations over sovereignty of the islands
A Chinese ambassador to the United Nations has backed Argentina’s claim to the and called on countries to abandon “colonial thinking”, warning of its serious implications for the international order.
Escalation of tension between Serbia and Kosovo doesn't seem to subside.
Anti anything exist anywhere in different proportions. In a local population it balance itself up because it is based on relations between people.
The problem is when a government feed the population with racism, anti-Asian, anti anything... it's the moment when things is going sour. I'm french Canadian , the government rhetoric against China, Russia, or just the majority non-Lgdptrick+... is turning me insane but I would go where ?
Obviously those who are basically bribed by the government with privileges and just siphoning money off relatively easy work due to past academic merit will be the last to leave. Their equivalent in China would also be the last Americans to leave China. They occupy an easy position and may even be entirely naturalized with honorary Anglo status. From my experiences and this is all for the moment, it could very well change in the future. With respect to how they feel about China, they're all proud of being Chinese and mostly speak Chinese to eachother, patronize Chinese businesses etc. But when you're older you have no priority more important than putting food on the table and simply put, patriotism doesn't put food on the table. These are some realities to acknowledge, like eventhough Chinese tech has come a long way, American tech companies are still by far more prestigious and pay way better than Chinese ones do, and then there's of course the stock option which probably needs no explanation. Let's not even talk about finance where, whatever feelings about that industry, in China thanks to Xi's common prosperity policy working in finance only pays a little better than being a waiter. So if you're a Chinese expat working at Goldman Sachs in New York, why would you ever go back to China?
As for foreign born diaspora, I'll keep it short in that they mostly identify with their birth country. And even if they don't, they don't speak Chinese very well, their relatives have all passed away, and they have no friends in China, so China means nothing to them.
Now yes, America in many ways has become a lot more dangerous for East Asians. In the future we may even see shit like internment or a fullblown Republican vs Democrats civil war. But for now, let's not exaggerate, being a Chinese in America today is not the same as being Muslim in Myanmar or even a Chinese in 1990s Indonesia. People encounter bs everyday, but that's just a part of being an adult. By and large, and I know it may seem strange considering what I've said in the past, but most people are just getting on with their lives.
