12000kgf is higher than what most of us expected, I think.
To be fair, the previous spec of 11000kgf is achievable with current gen engine like F414 EPE so if it going to be next gen engine it has to be better.

there are many domestic options.
AEP-80 turboprop engine.
800kw(1070hp) variant probably the best option for this type of training aircraft.

another option is AEP-100 turboprop engine. recently developed by AECC
AEP-100 have many variants. so in this promotional video they specially mentioned advance trainer aircraft powered by this engine.
