Wait. So the US Gov was releasing oil reserves to tame oil prices which is usually the same around the globe. The US Govt was even making money from this by exporting the released reserves. Now the Republicans are trying to have the US government make less money by banning the said oil's export to the biggest importer of oil?

So either:
  • Someone was actually selling SPR oil to China, not that it's very strange since the point of releasing SPR is to depress global oil prices and China is the biggest importer of oil, and this law is meant to stop that, in which case Russia would be like "oh, well, thanks?"
  • No one was actually selling SPR oil to China and this law would do jack and is only chest thumping

And it has azipods so no rudder needed, its sail-by-wire with autopilot and manual joystick to override, no large clumsy steering wheel mechanism like in the good old days...

Nah, they are just pissed that China is getting their oil for 2019 prices thanks to Donald Trump's greatest deal ever, and exporting it to Europe for profit.

Also, this makes me wonder how much reserve does the US still have left?
