Ukrainian Airspace Remains Contested

Russia has not achieved air superiority over Ukraine as of March 3. The Ukrainian Air Force continues operating a week after the invasion began, with the Ukrainian General Staff reporting that Ukrainian Su-24s and Su-25s conducted airstrikes in Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv oblasts in the last 24 hours.[4] Ukrainian air defenses reportedly intercepted a Russian missile targeting Kyiv’s main railway station, which remains packed with refugees, the night of March 2.[5] Russian failures to secure air superiority likely reduce the effectiveness and extent of Russian air and missile attacks, increase the risk to Russian airborne and air assault operations, and force Russian ground combat units to face periodic air attack, likely degrading their operations to some extent. Russia’s failures in the air superiority fight are very surprising; ISW cannot offer any explanations for them at this time.

Latest update of the evacuation operations of Chinese citizens and family members from Ukraine: First two chartered flights, CA702 and CA704, have arrived in Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport. They will depart for Hangzhou and Zhengzhou respectively today on March 4 from Romania.


After having set the precedent of evacuating Chinese nationals together with their immediate foreign family members from Ukraine, this will also break the pandemic norm by granting emergency visas to these foreign spouses and their parents.

Arguable. If he's a member of the Azov battalion the Russians will claim he is no different to the treatment SS soldiers got in WW2. Most reasonable people would agree Neo-Nazis should get the same treatment as ISIS types, if not worse. Ultimately the winners decide who commits the war crimes.

If he is indeed the person responsible for the pig lard stunt then you have to call it a case of karma biting back big. Still I don't think it is smart for a serving member of the Russian forces to be doing that, let alone recording it. After all, there's a reason why the Geneva Conventions exist. Chechens captured by Ukrainians now probably won't get the same treatment as ethnic Russians, although it may have already been the case.

Ukrainian ultras were already making genocidal statements against Chechens before they even entered combat. I don't think the Ukrainians would treat Chechens well from the start.

Kill them all or much better made into fertilizer. Why feed these foreign mercenaries if captured? They are just adding more fuel to fire. Not resolving anything.

Everyone knows how evil these people are with how they can kill anyone they like and then get away with it like nothing and worse, the usa backs their actions and provide immunity. In the future, but China, Russia and all of their victims should make it a law that the moment you are part of a PMC, these people will not be protected by any law and can be hunted to extinction along with all of those associated with their wrong doings. I am going to say something that will not be popular: Ukraine will have to be utterly crushed to give up. I am sure that will come (91% sure at least). Even then, we will see partisans for years. This will be long, bloody and vicious. As determined as the Russians are, the Ukrainians are just as much.

There is no easy out. There will be no acceptance. This isn't a Disney fairy tale. This is Ukrainian and those almost never have happy endings from my experience.

I could also be wrong. I have been before and will be again.
