Yeah, there are going to be a lot of Darwin awards being given out this year.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking.

Chechens have a much bigger impact on this war then their deployment numbers. Both sides media reports talk about them. On the Russian side they are a big boost for the Russian groups who fight along them, and Ukrainians have been fleeing positions when they hear the Chechens are coming.

The PLA should have Uyghur battalions on similar lines.
For 120,000 USD a year, PLA could have a whole division of Nyghurs! I know I’ll sign-up!

Unfortunately, the Ukrainian tolerance of neo-Nazis and the Russian deployment of Chechens have added another level of inhumanity to this, already extremely destructive, conflict! At this rate, I guess we can only expect, now, repetitions of the atrocities that were committed in many previous conflicts. I hate the direction in which things seem to be going.

Aside from that of the actual politicians, let's avoid posting the lunatics' tweets. They aren't worth posting.

On the other hand, looks like the nuclear plant that was under attack is secure:

Ukrainian officials say situation at nuclear power plant is secure

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said Friday that following an attack by Russian forces on Europe's largest nuclear power plant, the facility is currently secure.
The emergency service said that there was a fire behind the nuclear power plant in an area that is used for training. The service said that initially, firefighters were unable to extinguish the fire due to the ongoing armed conflict.
The director of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant said

that at the moment the plant is secure.

Well, aside from “lunatic tweets”, I can report that not only television news, but also mindless entertainment shows are now filled with the constant drumming of “the invasion” into the ‘Murican psyche, and even stupid Mardi Gras parades were filled with references. Here, of course, promoting empathy for the Ukrainian people is being used to demonize Russian actions that are direct analogs to American actions in Iraq. Interestingly, there, the Iraqi people’s suffering was attributed, solely, to the actions of Saddam Hussein!

Wont work. The Chechens have a certain reputation that gives allies a morale boost and enemies fear. Forming some random battalion won’t have an effect. It’s just another unit on a paper unlike the Chechens whose past/current actions in history gave them that reputation.
ETIM don't have that reputation?

1) No Russian minority to speak of resided in Finland.
2) Ukraine wasn't offered a similar deal for whatever reason.

I agree it would have been the better solution.

Yanukovych was very much working towards that end, and then the orange revolution happened, afterwards Ukraine has been going full tilde towards Nato.

Granted Yanukovych was probably corrupted as fuck, however at this point we can all agree whatever came after him is much much worse
