Growing up I had a lot of my friends who were christian and forced me to go to their church. I was never an official member but I do know what goes on and what's in the bible etc.
It's just looking back, I cannot bring myself to believe in it. Firstly how do you know it's actually true and isn't some Jews stealing myths off the Babylonians and their neighbors and calling it their own? We have Europeans claiming to be Jews so they can claim Israel has always been theirs so what's to stop them doing it back then? The Jews claimed Egypt enslaved them to build the pyramids yet Egyptians have no records of it. Oh and all the details of Jesus were make hundreds of years after he died.
Also as someone who wastes time reading history I really wonder how can any history majors be religious esp christians when you see how bs the religion is and how many times things were literally made up on the spot to justify things in religions. You laugh at Joseph Smith and his Mormon crap but aren't you simply laughing coz he is modern? Loads of christian sects are like that but they aren't modern. Doesn't make them anymore legit like the Popes. It's just back then most people couldn't read and couldn't start questioning stuff.
From a Chinese perspective we have even less reason to believe in Christianity. In the bible China doesn't exist. So god or christians didn't even feel the need to acknowledge our existence despite being all knowing. The Chinese civilization is also older than Jewish one. While Jews make Abraham some mythical figure, the Xia dynasty doesn't seems mythical because so much writing and facts are on it so we know it was founded by a flood engineer. So it's hard to believe some mythical crap when during that so called mythical period, we can see our ancestors doing rather boring stuff coz all the details are provided.
