I read a few articles saying Taiwan is planning to mass produce hypersonic missile. I am not sure how sure is that. If it is true, how does it change the equation of things

And are these articles from MSM? The question is how and with what tech?

There are a bunch of articles from google search.
hahaha
Majority of these sources are just repeating the same article from Taipei Times
Also majority of these results are dubious Indian crap media
Look at the reality, Taiwan defense industry has had massive regression since the 90'-00's heyday.
Part of this is basically there is no large scale technical assistance available anymore, and they don't have the money to fund big projects. On top of this, all their best technical experts usually leave elsewhere for better pay. Resources are massively constrained (especially relative to mainland)
HF-3 is their newest AShM, it was developed in the 90's. PRC has like 20 AShM models since then.

TC-2 was an impressive feat, homegrown active radar AAM, at the time only France, Russia, Japan, and America (and Israel) had it. Even PRC was relying on Russia for the technology at the time. No major developments for Taiwan since then even though they need this. Again, PRC has since leapfrogged into advanced AESA seekers for AAM/SAM.

Drones should be a no brainer for a Taiwan which has a decent industrial base, but we don't see anything from them.

The only new large projects successfully completed are the Tuo Chiang corvette. This is compared to the PRC which completed multiple homegrown naval aviation assets (CV and LHD).

Ok it seem they are claiming they have a hypersonic missile and are planning to mass produce it. If what they are saying is true then it's very highly likely that usa have help them to build. Because Taiwan has no capability to produce these type of missile. They are not even the level of Iran or north Korea when it's coming to building their own missile.

An interesting article on how Europe could be involved in a Taiwan contingency. TLDR it's through submarines, but hinges on several preconditions, from the nature of war to existence of agreements between allies

Of course Europe is irrelevant. They need their assets for defense of Greenland.
