Joe Biden set to block Nippon Steel’s takeover of US Steel​

President Joe Biden will block Nippon Steel’s acquisition of US Steel after his administration concluded that the $14.9bn transaction posed a national security risk that could not be mitigated by the US and Japanese groups. Several people familiar with the matter said the White House would prevent the acquisition of the Pittsburgh-based group on national security grounds.

Deeply concerned...? Maybe Trudeau didn't inform his Farm Minister that he just slapped a 100% tariff on Chinese EVs. That's pretty arrogant when it should've been expected. I'm surprised the media didn't just ignore Canada slapping the tariff on China and make it look like China did it for no good reason like they usually do. Despite the much deserved mocking this article has inspired, this is also a demonstration of western/anglo psychological warfare. They are hoping to drive a wedge between China and Russia by appealing to russian anxieties over Chinese swarming into siberia. This has been a historic fear by russians particularly those europhile russians but fortuantely there has been decades of trust built up between Putin's Russia and the CPC such that intel is being shared and the Russians have even encouraged and allowed the passage of Chinese goods through Vladivostock without any duties or tariffs. Effectively, Chinese exporters can use russian ports the same as Chinese ports to get to the Sea of Japan. To say nothing of the transport of military via this route as well.

Now, i'm as irredentist as anyone here but i would trade outer manchuria for the territories of the Five Eyes in a heartbeat, turning the Pacific into a Chinese lake.

Yes it ain't no coincidence either that the President of Taiwan said it would be easier for China to invade Russia than Taiwan. Someone is distributing talking points... The logic is thinking Russia would fall for it and break it off with China so then Russia would have to surrender to the West's demands because having trade with the West is much more important and valuable. By the West's own admission China's indirect aid is beating all the West's combined direct aid in the Ukraine War. Again only a white supremacist would see something wrong with having that relation with China.

His visit Israel was 2018. He was never arrested for that. He got trouble in 2022 because his effort of monopoly in online shopping and financial service (using his load to by in his online shop and forcing seller to use only his shop etc.)

First 9 months of 2023, Russia exported 1.3 million tonnes, China imported 1.1 million tones. In 2021, China's import was 93% from Canada.

With Russia being sanctioned by the west, China switching to Russia is not only a punishment of Canada but also a help to Russia. I see doubled benefits.
