Midwest fields isn't what allows US to be a threat. What makes US able to be a threat to China? Is it:
A) the high quality of their individual person (no).
B) their agriculture industry (no).
C) the high efficiency of their industry (no lmao).
D) they have usurped international systems to serve their interests through corruption and pan-white supremacy ideology (yes).
So to remove what makes them dangerous, you don't even have to take away their agriculture, their population, or the hand making workshops they call industry.
Having wheat doesn't make a country powerful in 2024. Americans can have as much wheat they want, but as an example, if they can't buy semiconductors from China and Korea is cowed into submission from selling to them, there's no way Americans can make better products themselves, so they'll just wither into irrelevance. Like Brazil or Argentina.
To achieve this disarmament, it's not needed to vastly out tech the enemy, stack ABM and then lead a continent spanning war. The "only" needed requirement is to delegitimize and kick out America from as many international systems as possible and put spoilers into the US-pan whitey empire aspiration by screwing with their demographics and at the same time promoting European nationalism and/or alternative competing white "supremacy" ideologies.

If America can't have industrial goods from Asia, they won't be able to make better themselves, and if the Europeans can't come to their rescue, they are just done. No way out.
Doing those moves should be the starting point, and if that doesn't work, China can still keep advancing in military tech and maybe do what Mao envisioned later (and in that case I feel grateful that I have Chinese citizenship).
