The Chinese government better not let vivo sell what ever technology it has to tata. Vivo should grow a spine and rather leave the country than to be taken over on the cheap. There must be more to it, otherwise they company is just stupid at best, traitorous at worst.

If India was that awesome and capable as a society and country, then they would develop and acquire tech regardless of whatever roadblocks China puts up. They will eventually become a fully developed country.

On the other hand, if India is incompetent and incoherent, then no amount of easy access to technology will help them achieve industrial competitiveness. Now the question is, how competent do you think India is?

I think India is simply not competent enough to be a threat to China. Its a bubble economy which will eventually pop just like many other incompetent poor countries in the past. Think of Latin America but worse. Just look at their extremely overvalued stock market and you will know India is running on overhype that will eventually collapse.

India has detained (kidnapped) many chinese executives from Chinese tech companies, including vivo, xiaomi etc. Sadly these sales are 100% forced, China's policies towards India needs a major rework.
