For example, I have a very good friend who's a Muslim, he loves America and was highly critical of many things China did, to Muslims in particular (i.e. completely bought into the Uyghur genocide POV). We've had quite a few heated conversations in the past, but we've always remained good friends. Pointing out past atrocities by the US toward Muslims, the far more number confirmed killed, was not enough. Afghanistan and Iraq happened when we were young, too busy chasing girls and booze than to read about politics. Those facts he's aware of, but they've already been casually processed by his America-can-do-no-wrong web of perception. Now that I've introduced a new web to him, however, he's processing the Israel's war in Gaza and America's role differently, especially vis-a-vis the collective West's actions in Ukraine.

These changes take time, you just need to be persistent and consistent. If people are willing to listen, then changes can happen, but only by starting to process new information in a new way. Once this happens, and they realize the new way of processing information is more valid, then they may go back to start processing old information with the new method as well and a person's entire world view can change.

What a waste of time and effort. Most people are worthless NPCs born brainwashed and will die brainwashed. For people who really have nothing better than do, go for it though.

There's nothing wrong with trying to save those you care about.

But first and foremost is you need to make sure you yourself are on the right side first and are in the position to take advantage when things go your way. Only when you are in a secure position can you ever think of trying to help others.

But unfortunately life isn't easy right now and its hard enough making your own position secure. So if others take too much effort, then too bad. Life is really cruel in history. Millions to maybe even billions have made the wrong choices and history just dumped them into the trash bin. Their convictions and beliefs forgotten because they picked the wrong horse.

The Axis in WW2 would take loads of convincing to tell them they weren't the master race. But history didn't care and many of them just died like that with that. Their beliefs didn't matter in the end coz they were on the wrong side and the dead can no longer speak. Thats how history deals with stubborn people.

Things are changing. Before Thailand used to buy American MBTs exclusively, but now Chinese VT-4 tanks are operated by Thai Royal Army. Also, Thailand purchased advanced submarines, advanced frigates, missiles, and APCs from China, so the perception of Made in China quality is shifting. It will take time to reach the young generation, but the decision makers in charge know of made in China quality now. Chinese EVs are starting to dominate the market in Thailand, that will further accelerate the positive perception of made in China goods and services.
