One thing I noticed this time during Iran’s attack is watching the warheads coming down then small explosions after they pass by. Before they would call those little explosions intercepts but they never talk about proximity fuses when first the interceptor explodes to increase the chances of interception and then if the interceptor misses, it self-destructs to prevent collateral damage before the interceptor hits ground after it misses. Technically speaking until the civil war is 100% resolved even PRC of today should be classified as a 武装割据政权, as they do over in Taiwan still calling CPC “共匪” even to this day. Hence by the same process if CPC gives up the claim to Taiwan that would then change the nature of PRC from 武装割据政权 to 伪政权 and destroy CPC's legitimacy to rule.

(Which is why you shouldn't be too upset if you see Taiwanese call PRC/CPC 共匪 because that means they see PRC as another player in the current warring state period. And shit talking your opponent in a warring state period is par for the course)

Generally speaking towards the end of a warring state period when one of the state becomes dominant and looks like they are set to win and become the new dynasty the remaining challengers are expected to either ride into a glorious last stand, or give up and submit, as Shu did. Dragging it out is considered bad form. I've actually heard a Taiwanese professor praise Liu Shan for what he did instead of shit on him as people have done for over a thousand years. Just my personal take on it, I would not read too much into it, who mets Scholz in a city far away from Beijing.

This is a state visit, Scholz will met everyone in the capital.

The good thing about this trip, is that EU woman did not tag along, like how she try to hijack Marcon's state visit a few months ago.

Who knows, this trip is three days in length, so there is still a window for her appearance.

German transport minister threatens public with ‘indefinite driving bans’​

German Transport Minister Volker Wissing has warned that he may forbid citizens from driving on weekends if reforms aren’t made to a controversial climate law. Even Germany’s Federal Environmental Agency considers such a move “unnecessary” and “frightening.”

In a letter to the chief lawmakers of Germany’s ruling coalition on Thursday, Wissing warned that the government may have to put in place a drastic “action program” if the 2019 Climate Protection Act is not amended by July.

Such a program could include “comprehensive and indefinite driving bans on Saturdays and Sundays,” Wissing said.

Passed by former Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government, the Climate Protection Act mandates a 65% reduction in CO2 emissions across the entire German economy by 2030, and complete carbon neutrality by 2045. The act also sets maximum annual emissions levels for each sector of the economy – such as transportation – and requires the government to implement an “action program” if any sector exceeds this limit.

Some members of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s coalition, such as Wissing, want to pass an amendment that would impose an overall emissions limit on the country and allow the government to decide which sectors to cut to achieve this goal. However, the Greens have blocked any attempt to amend the act thus far, as such a move would essentially dilute the power of the act.

Detlaf Muller, a senior lawmaker from Scholz’s Social Democrats, accused Wissing of needlessly stoking fear.

“Scaremongering with far-fetched proposals won’t help climate protection in the transport sector at all, quite the contrary,” he told the Rheinische Post on Friday. “The proposal does not further our common goal of reducing CO2 emissions, but [causes] unnecessary uncertainty for people in our country.”

The Greens’ parliamentary group leader, Julia Verlinden, also downplayed Wissing’s warning, telling the German Press Agency that a driving ban would be unnecessary if the minister imposed a speed limit on Germany’s famously unrestricted Autobahn.

Germany’s Federal Environmental Agency is also in favor of speed limits. “Of course we don’t need driving bans. Nobody is even discussing such a ban; this is frightening people for no reason,” agency chief Dirk Messner told Zeit on Friday.

Such a program could include “comprehensive and indefinite driving bans on Saturdays and Sundays,” Wissing said.

In fact I avoided it and to be honest, I don't know how that all happened and why it escalated like this: Yes, I couldn't keep my mouth shut again and responded to what I thought was a stupid comment, whereupon he - and I don't even know him - was terribly violent and insulting. After 2 or 3 replies in which didn't react to any argument and didn't calm down, I simply blocked him and left the discussion.

So, in the end I wasn't aware what followed until the next day when some nice friends on Twitter and many others - some of whom I didn't even know - expressed their support, and explained quite vaguely that the chat must have escalated even more, whereupon he deleted his account.

Actually I don't know why there was no chance to simply clarify a possible misunderstanding, maybe it was indeed just a stupid joke that I didn't understand. And even more it's not clear to me why it made such a „big splash“ about Naval News, for example … .

But be that as it may, given what is happening between Iran and Israel, none of this matters.
