@Deino settle this with a honorable duel!

In fact I avoided it and to be honest, I don't know how that all happened and why it escalated like this: Yes, I couldn't keep my mouth shut again and responded to what I thought was a stupid comment, whereupon he - and I don't even know him - was terribly violent and insulting. After 2 or 3 replies in which didn't react to any argument and didn't calm down, I simply blocked him and left the discussion.

So, in the end I wasn't aware what followed until the next day when some nice friends on Twitter and many others - some of whom I didn't even know - expressed their support, and explained quite vaguely that the chat must have escalated even more, whereupon he deleted his account.

Actually I don't know why there was no chance to simply clarify a possible misunderstanding, maybe it was indeed just a stupid joke that I didn't understand. And even more it's not clear to me why it made such a „big splash“ about Naval News, for example … .

But be that as it may, given what is happening between Iran and Israel, none of this matters.

"As countries such as the USA and

are positioning themselves much more sharply against China, Germany has an important role to play," he said, adding that Germany was "in a position of strength".

According to the above article, this "position of strength," they have over China is still like gospel to many Western people.

Now this article below, the Americans are angry.

The American politicians are angry simply because their "position of strength," don't mean shit to the Chinese.

Your damn "position of strength," is your damn freaking problem. Leave me the freak out of it.

Those American politicians should stop and think about it for a second.

Those who are in a "position of strength," do not get angry.

People who are in a "position of strength," hold all the cards. Why would anyone who holds all the cards be angry?

Unless they are not.

This anger, is just a display of weakness. Not a "position of strength."

This position of strength thing, could be dying or already dead, you know. Deng goi. You know.

Same old story, that five stages of grief, and these two stories, is about denial aka the position of strength, and then the anger that your position of strength do not amount to freaking anything as far as Huawei is concerned. If your position of strength is already dead, then of course it will not amount to anything. Like it is dead! Deng goi!

It is kind of like an individual thing, this five stages of grief, when it comes to China and Western people.

China hands like Cyrus Jensen and David Goldman, they are way past denial and angry, they zipped by those two stages in two seconds, and they are trying to convince other Western people, ie bargaining, for a more balance view of China, the acceptance part.

Lots of people in the depression stage, probably like the Japanese and Koreans. The German Greens too. In their attempt to punish or isolate China, it was turned out the other way, that the Greens are isolated on this China issue. The irony is that China did not even have to do anything, they did not even bother to play a card, and their opponent was neutered. People who are not in a position of strength, get neutered like a Zelensky.

For the West right now, it will only get worst, before it can get better.

In the West, the biggest economy is printing money, and the rest of them are in recession.

If that is strength, then we can include the military, where they have run out of ammo to give to Zelensky.

Illusions of grandeur.

:D
It says Germany Was in a position of strength. its past tense. The difference between US/Japan and Germany is that the former fit into Arabic economic system and later not and this thing is impacting Ukraine and Europe. Zelensky should have understood these things ahead of time. he already met Emir of Qatar and got state visit to Qatar during Covid. These Emirs and Kings are serious people they dont have time to waste as there time is build Soft power among followers. Even putting Toyota infront of Nissan has a element of Arabic soft power.

I think what the late Charlie Munger said about Singapore, China and India is absolutely correct. Interesting how he managed to put it in the simplest way .. watch this, you won't waste your 5 mins
To each his own BUT making LKY above DXP is a bit much, I don't want to belittle LYK achievement, he is a a great leader of his time BUT building a city state is way more easier than a continental size country with a population of 1.4 billion (coming from a disastrous Cultural Revolution) and also Singapore was blessed with a great harbor in an excellent real estate in Asia, so they had an asset to build on.

I'm blurring all of LYK's interviews together but I recall him saying as much, that if he were to be given China as a problem to solve in similar fashion to Singapore he wouldn't have been able to do as well and as fast due to the sheer difference in scope, and the CPC were incredible to even adopt his methods that quickly.

When asked whether he believed India would catch up with China:
Lee Kuan Yew disagrees strongly. He was optimistic about India’s future when Nehru was in charge but thinks the country has been held back by its stifling bureaucracy, rigid caste system and absence of genuine leadership. We asked him whether India will match China’s rise, and his answer was, “No. Do not talk about India and China in the same breath. India is not a real country. Instead, it is 32 separate nations that happen to be arrayed along the British rail line.”

Because modern Western, particularly Anglo led governments base their legitimacy on white supremacy. If the government can't continue to guarantee white privileges, they would face civil revolt the way they are currently facing what with the BLM cultural revolution and the perceived favouritism shown to black americans.

When the hate train to China starts getting too real for even the regular China Hawks of Twitter

Wow, that Chinese policeman who had an altercation with Pottinger really gave him such a hate boner he's declared civilisation war on all China. What did he do, reject his advances?

In fact, these individuals remind me of a young George Thomas Staunton who accompanied the McCartney embassy as a kid to Qing China and who later became an outspoken supporter of the Opium War. Staunton was the private secretary to his father, Sir George Leonard Staunton, who was a key member of the embassy. George Thomas Staunton's views on the Opium War were controversial, as he advocated for British interests in the opium trade and supported military action against the Qing Dynasty.

Such westerners often have a warped perception of Asian societies, be it the fixation on ghengis khan or a japanese fetish or a deep seated BDSM desire to dominate Chinese people.

For people who say China has no freedom of speech; would any article that is remotely pro China have anywhere near the coverage in say the NYT or Foreign Affairs magazine?

LKY had some racist views. But not the low intellect I don't like them coz they are brown. But artery cutting stuff like if Singapore's Chinese population proportion was replaced by Malays of Indians, due to how they behave simply put Singapore would not exist.

In his own words, he is not a nice person because he understands the environment he is in. Such an environment can not afford someone to think it's sunshine and rainbows out there.

Looking at SG's current leadership I kinda get it now. He needed to be tough and strong to steer the ship the right way. And now he's gone, the next generation don't have what it takes to steer the boat.
