If you don't think I speak for Africa then go to any African forum or walk up to any group of African and say the nonsense you're saying and watch their reaction. You know nothing about Africa or Africans. We respect China but don't take it for granted.

This is not true. A small group of senators favor dialogue and only the use of force if all else fails. This group is the Northern Senators Forum. They don't want a military intervention yet because 1) They fear their areas will be affected by the flood of potential refugees and 2) They are related to Nigeriens (they speak Hausa and have similar culture, in fact they are the same people). Majority of the other Senators favor intervention.

Nigeria has had enough! It can't allow a Wagner belt in the Sahel, it's completely against its interests. Europeans, whether western or Russian, should not be allowed to control Africa. The Chinese are respectful, they do business and leave. Africa should not let foreign forces start dictating economic policy like they do in Central African Republic. Today the Sahel, tomorrow the coastal West African countries. There's a reason why all the coastal and Island West African countries are intervening.

I think your opinion of African positions is perhaps restricted to only English speakers or perhaps mostly Nigerians. Months ago you were insistent that a Nigerian led military intervention in Sahel was forming and had popular support. Most of us in the forum correctly interpreted that this was a mostly French project being undertaken under African political/diplomatic cover. The whole enterprise was of course abandoned when neither Africans and French made enough commitments.

Either way, argument on attitudes gives away to material reality. China is not equivalent to an European imperial power because it does not force Africans to give up their resources at gun point, it does not control Africans by holding their central banks and their currencies hostage. To frame China as an African imperial power based on the attitude of either Africans or Chinese is irrelevant.

Of course China should not be humble. That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Ego has no place in serious governance. The idea that China should behave with anything other than pragmatism and logic is frankly malicious.

Many Global South countries are run by corrupt elites, their "goodwill" towards China are NOT because of China improving QoL for their people or because China is the closest thing to a champion their countries have. @Sardaukar20 and @Randomuser are right that many are in fact diametrically opposed to China.

China rising represents the biggest paradigm shift the world has seen in 500 years. It is as if the sun changes it's daily path in the sky. That's a terrifying, terrifying thing to even think about. Not even China itself is completely comfortable seeing such a thing happen.

Many people would rather stay poor, oppressed, diseases, starving, and dying than have to change their worldview like that, and that is also a reason they act overly disrespectful or self-sabotaging.

I've noticed there seems to be a trend of all these Japanese people larping as Taiwanese and conveniently echoing every US policy like a lapdog.

I wonder where this comes from? For example the VP of the DPP in Taiwan is half Japanese and not even born there. The DPP also seem to have a hand in whitewashing all the Japanese crimes and sucking up to them.

I have no doubt the US is behind this. But I'm just wondering why Japan? Any Taiwanese know about this?

Edit: This person is actually an "aboriginal" but conveniently uses a Japanese name even though Japan hasn't ruled the island since the 1945. I would argue that's actually worse since a Japanese actually has a reason to do stuff for Japan compared to these guys.

I just got back from the airshow. When I queued up today around 2-3 in the afternoon they didn't check IDs. Think they stopped because of the backlash.

Still begs the question of

1. Who initiated and approved this regime of blocking PRC nationals? How high up does it go?

2. Did the Airshow organisers or even Singapore approve this?

3. Are there actions being taken to punish those involved?

This type of discrimination must be investigated and fought.

If he is Nigerian it makes a lot of sense. They are like the most prideful Africans with aspiration of becoming a superpower. They are also quite overbearing on their neighbors. This is not unlike a certain other country we all know. Their GDP per capita is also similar.

Unlike that country, it is not a nuclear power. Even less reason to respect.

Some poor people hate to see other poor people do well. I suspect this is what's happening here with @Africablack. They are like toxic 'friends' that try to secretly sabotage or talk-down their successful friend. They try to talk about how much the successful person 'owes' them from random small past stuff, or make out new positive changes as bad things.

It's a huge trend in poorer communities / families in the US, where newly affluent folks feel forced to move out of the ghetto and cut ties.
