The time to fight "Chinese EVs" was a decade ago, but legacy manufacturers preferred to fiddle emission data rather than face a future which was clear even then. Incumbents cannot innovate when doing so means destroying their current (successful) business model, seems to be an iron law of business.

Should be interesting how the relationship will change. The Indonesian people just had a couple of years of good economic relationship with China. This good relationship providing economic growth and Infrastructure. Only time will tell how this will develop might go the way like the Thai election went and deep state put things back on track if my memory serves me well.
