But booth staff interviews showed what appeared to be just a random aircraft they found, and there was even a Mirage 2000 model carrying HD-1A on the booth.

Fair enough, this by itself doesn't qualify as confirmation. Technically, the weight shouldn't be an issue for the JF-17, a couple of HD-1As are within payload parameters.

It's a powerful capability though. You've got the ability to use HD-1As to attack point-defense systems and follow-up with GB6s with cluster payloads. That basically means that half a squadron of JF-17s can take out an entire Armored Division, or an Air Field.

@nlalyst, much to learn you still have.
On second look, the photos of the HD-1A that you posted and captioned don’t match up with the one shown equipped on the JF-17. Four inlets in the brochure photo you posted, and just 2 on the new one. The length of the inlets is different too.

That raises the question: why is this missile called HD-1A? Is this yet another naming mistake? With such obvious differences, I would not expect the weight to be the same either. Could very well be lighter than given it has only half the inlets.
