Does not make sense for it to be an attack variant when it does not seem to be carrying weapons but loudspeakers and flashlights.

Maybe this is an optional package for it. Because the Z-9WA have all-weather, day/night capability it could be used for SAR mission. Probably this is a secondary role.

I'm sorry to say this: the pix look photoshop for me. Now, the back ground is a football field, behind that is some resident houses. What is the helo doing there? The helo is very near to ground, but the grass is so still and no dust.

so, I saw this photo of Z-9 serving in the army aviation, looks to be a SAR version. Now, I don't follow LH that much, but does anyone else think this version seems to be more stealthy than the normal Z-9s that we see?

It appears to have a belt-fed gun on the starboard pylon, although the purpose of the box under it is unclear. Also there is no winch visible (internal, perhaps???).

Not likely, as you can see the feed chute leading to an ammunition bin in the fuselage. It could conceivably be there as a spent casing/link catcher, but still looks too big...

Naval equipment on an Army chopper? Plus these are usually housed in the fuselage. It could be an ammo box, but only if the gun is a dual-feed one. However, it appears to have louvers and cooling holes, so it's for some sort of electric/electronic equipment. Strange location though, as the vibration of a cannon firing is not exactly electronics-friendly...
