No such negative reports over all positive results are reported in Media (other than engine issue which was reported by people favoring T-129)

Will the PA acquire this type ?

No one could comment about this with certainty at this stage, but one thing which is the biggest plus point of Z-10 is that it is Operational with the Chinese Army while T-129 is not & will take some more time (actually 2-3 more years)

It seem this bird is leading the race

What about these constant reports about A.129 additionally to the Mi-35 and AH-1W ... ?

T-19 was also in Pakistan for testing purpose showed some promising result with some minor issues, other than engine issue which is foreign & will need approval for re-export .... all in all most of the media reports indicates over all satisfactory results.

Mi-35 is for special duties, current order is for Anti Narcotics Force which is not part of Defence Forces but comes under Ministry of Interior so any future order even for Army will be in limited number.

15 AH-1Z viper is also confirm initial number of birds (I think 3 or 5 out of 15) are under construction in USA & delivery will start form 2018 & its premature to comment that we will we go for any additional number or not for this Gunship, but even if we opt to order more for this the total number will not increase more then 25 or 30 & our fleet of gunship in 60 (around 40 is operational) & it is expected that gunship fleet of Army aviation will increase in number.

We are searching another type to complement the AH-1Z fleet

It doesn't matter who reports engine problems, as long as the information is accurate and complete. So, is it true the Z-10 test units had engine problems?

Not if it has problematic engines.

Why is the Pakistan Army searching for an alternative to the AH-1Z, is it the price tag or US restrictions on use? Both?

Can't confirm but multiple time it is reported secondly after the end of extensive testing remaining Z-10 gunships are with the Operational Units of Army Aviation & performing routine Operations along with Cobra Helicopters; base on this we can assume there are more chances of this bird to win the order than T-129.

We are not searching alternative of AH-1Z but additional gunships other then AH-1Z for number of reasons particularly due to evolving nature of our Defence needs & yes price is also another factor.

My understanding is that this is about the power of the existing engines (like the continuing questioning of the J-20 having weak engines), not about malfunctioning.
That's the nagging problem all along, and the lack of evidence to prove otherwise (such as IR dampening exhausts, ECM suites, countermeasures launchers, pictorial evidence of maximum payload) cemented the notion. Reliability of engines isn't the issue that got brought up, but being underpowered is. So, if the WZ-16 lived up to the expectation, entered into production and Z-10 get upgraded with WZ-16, we might begin to see Z-10 flaunt with heavier payload.
