Not really. The Apache has the same capability, well the British ones anyways. All British Apache pilots are trained as pilot gunners meaning they can both fly the helo or operate the weapons systems. This creates a redundancy safety feature, so in case one consol malfunctions or one consol/pilot is take out during combat, the other pilot gunner can take over and get the bird back home safely.
It also makes logistics and crewing easier as if people leave the service or become casualties during combat, you don't end up with too many pilots or gunners but not enough complete crews.
It is good that the WZ10 has also adopted this system.
Original TADS has an optical relay tube for gunner only. Normally, pilot uses PNVS optics and gunner uses TADS. Therefore crew can look at different angles simultaneously.
Block III removed optical tube and added a third display. It is easy to have two identical operating environment in digital world. In 1980's, it was not easy to have such design for first generation of Apache.
