I was watching Piers Morgan on CNN talking about this and he already booked guests for another subject dealing with consumerism and women so he naturally discussed this with them. One of them spun it to say the man was the villain who actually wanted to strike his girlfriend but he decided to kill himself instead. This kind of logic is like when I hear anorexia is the fault of a sexist male society. I don't know one straight guy who likes an anorexic woman. That is the fault of the fashion industry which is controlled by everyone but straight men.

Obviously the couple had some major issues that didn't get resolved before this incident happen. It wasn't the shopping that killed him, it was the social pressure and stress that did him in. Heck, I would dump the girlfriend in a heart beat if she acted that way to me.

He said, I'm done shopping, he meant what he said!

I kinda have similar experiences on our sister forum DT, there are some great guys over there as well, but they are heavily into "Group Think", and new posters who go against that "brand" are summarily insulted and branded trolls or flame-baiters, and banned. The main reason I love Sino Defense, is that I am able to "speak my mind", and the moderators are always kind and considerate, so if I have something that I "suspect" might be over the edge, I feel very comfortable asking the mods to "edit or delete" as they see fit, and if somebody is "out of hand", our mods make every attempt explain and respectfully ask that person to follow the rules. I would love to see DT be more like the Sino Defense forum, and be a little more respectful of others??? One of the reasons I spend my time on Sino D wit my bros, brat.

i remmeber being at socnet and they did the same to me. they just banned me for disagreeing with american foreign policies of using hard power everywhere. yes they might be special operators with training beyond normal people can endure..but speaking nothing of their ability to accept different opinions.

Well I do think us the straight males do have some plays in some places for sexism....but by no means are we the sole cause. What women wants, what society wants, is a very interesting, in-depth, and lengthy answer that no one can give a simple answer to. Rather, I'd say lookism and these privileges at play are the main culprit..which means we as parts of this society, all have responsibility towards doing something about it. However once again, people who blame solely straight male are just extreme die-hard feminists who's making it hard for the actual meaningful feminist movement.

Nevermind human beings.. there have been verified reports of drivers bring drugged out of vehicles and killed by craze mobs for running over a chicken or some animal!!! also in India the cow is considered a sacred animal as in 'holy cow'. You do not touch a cow no matter what.

lol "holy cow".

Women are more affected by the criticism of other women not from straight men. Not many women dress for men. Women dress for women. Why do I put it into the context of straight males? Because the irony is you watch popular culture and the people in the fashion industry who say what is sexy on a woman... they don't have any sexual interests towards women. How would they know what is sexy on a woman? Women don't look for a man that looks like a woman. If you look at the gay men in the fashion industry, what do they see as sexy? A man that has none of things that make him a woman... a shape and some hips. So how does a woman get rid of the things that make her naturally look like a woman? It's done by anorexia where she becomes a shapeless boyish figure because women naturally have more fat than a man. I know some people would think what I just said is crossing the line. Like blaming a man committing suicide assuming if he didn't, he would've been abusive towards his girlfriend? Or blaming anorexia on straight men for what a fashion industry dominated by people who aren't straight men says what the ideal look for women should be?

Hmm interesting viewpoint. I agree that women are more affected by other women more so often than us. As for what the fashion industry dictates, I have no idea so I won't comment on it..although I speculate there's a sense of artistic appreciation for "curves" as elegant. I do remember though, that I have seen those commercials and ads where they showed the behind-the-scene production where they used photoshop to alter the images of the models to the "perfect curves", which in fact is unrealistic. I will see if I can find the video for you. As for the blame a man suicide analogy, I got lost there. Can you clarify please?

Tell me about it!
Still DT is suffering as the membership and activity levels are plummeting as a result of what is really very poor moderation.
Its very sad as it used to be massive and covered a genuinely wide range of topics with a lot of very informed people, most of whom are no longer active.
