the device at the end of the Barrel is a Blank Firing attachment. Unlike movies and TV blanks can't actually produce the pressure needed to cycle the weapon properly the BFA acts to increase the barrel pressure by reducing the diameter of the barrel allowing the blank to generate the pressure needed to cycle the action.

Sad to see all these T-64s rusting away. Good that they were never used in a war, but I can not stand to see things deteriorate like that. Also think of all the jobs lost in that factory. Within a few more years all that knowhow, from the technicians, will be lost.

I believe the whole army of Cambodia doesn't have that many tanks. It's a pity they're all rusted away here. Don't they recycle those tanks? I saw many place in the world that they drop retired tanks into sea to make artificial "coral" for fishes. Will this be the final fate for these tanks?

Looking at those tanks I am not sure that they ready for the scrap heap yet. They are rusted sure but the question is how deep is it. If it's just surface rust then the hull and turret might be salvageable. I mean even at its worst at least a quarter of those tanks could probably be rebuilt and turned Hot rod into a beast that could do fairly well even on todays battlefield. First step would be to strip them to bare metal and inspect. Any penetration of the hull and its recycling. Those intact hulls and turrets then get sandblasted to polished steel. Now the fun would start as new automotive and electronics and suspension are installed in the hull, new hull coatings and doors and treads.
the turret would get a new brusel up graded cannon of one of the two popular choices 120 or 125mm new Mgs new hull coatings and armor packs new sensors and aimers and computers maybe even a hard kill ADS. The result would be a tank that though not the youngest bell of the ball she would still turn a head or two. And any third world nation would be proud to call her theirs.

I have no knowledge about maintenance of military equipment. If those tanks only rust on the outside, and it is still repairable with minimal cost, they can be donated to Afghanistan or Iraq as a good gesture.

Damn, imagine the world have to go to war and you see all of those tanks mobilized and thinking that it is only a fraction of the whole force

Unless I missed my mark that factory is Malyshev in Kharkiv, Ukraine the tanks are a mix of Soviet era types the Ukrainian military had been sending there T64's there to get them upgraded. Malyshev was hardly a successful business after the fall they have tried to sell Modern Tanks but they have had problems due to export licensing and competition. They did have one mild success though they made parts for the Chinese-Pakistani joint tank Al-Khalid tank.
as to giving them away the US sold export versions of the M1E1 to Iraq and well who knows with Afghanistan. Given the Russian government at the moment I suspect these rusting demons nigh end up sold to Assad and African nations after a trip to one of the Active Russia tank factories.

[h=2]Cold Response 14[/h]
Norwegian tanks take part in a live-fire capabilities demonstration during Cold Response 14, a multinational and multilateral training exercise above the Arctic Circle that brings together more than 14,000 service members from 15 different countries, to include approximately 1,200 NATO personnel, March 11. The Norwegian-led exercise involves maritime, land and air operations being conducted this month to reinforce high-intensity operations in unique winter conditions, showcasing the diplomatic relationships, strategic friendships, and commitment to global security interests of all participating nations. The majority of the service members are participating from the United States, Norway, Canada, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Sweden.

HNLMS Zeeland arrived in Aruba 03.13.2014, marking the start of its rotation as the Dutch Carribean guard ship. As part of the ongoing cooperation with the United States against narcotics smuggling in the area, she's carrying a US Coast Guard helicopter and crew.
