Also surprisingly under reported by the MSM. Glory to free and objective media.

Japanese embassy pays British think tank to plant anti-China stories

Japan has been paying 10,000 pounds per month to a British think tank to hype up “China threat” among British high-level politicians, the media here has reported. A detailed report carried out by The Sunday Times said that the Japanese Embassy in London reached a deal with the Henry Jackson Society (HJS), a registered charity, to wage a propaganda campaign against China.

Not surprising that the Japanese hire "lobbyists" for geo-political smear campaigns. I remember in the early 90s watching some news roundtable show and they had a representative of Japan on and he even said that it would be good for Japan since it was the trade boogeyman of the world at that time in the US media that China get all the negative attention even though Chinese trade was not on the radar. Then later I remember reading an article that Japan hired and paid tens of millions of dollars to a bunch lobbyists in Washington to clean their image among Americans. So if you look at how outsourcing gets all the attention these days while Japanese corporations still make all the profits when their products are sold in the US unlike the countries where US corporations outsource to, those lobbyists did their jobs. So it's not surprising that Japan pays for propaganda in other countries as well because it works. All the unfair trade practices accused towards Japan back in the 70s and 80s are still happening today. Nothing has changed on Japan's part.
