Nice my friend :) but not a true military unit, for VIP, HMX-1 Sqn based to Andrews have 11 VH-3D there are those that are used by the President normaly *, 8 VH-60N and 12 MV-22 used for others VIP and support.

* Mainly for security reason MV-22 does not carry the President because despite big progress ( at the beginning many problems during many years ! ) not enough safe/reliable remains special and not enough safe according to what I know maybe changes.

Enough US members for enlighten us :)

But 3 together seems much a big personnality sure, President ?

This MV-22 very easy recognizable with her green painting only them get it.
Have replaced CH-46.

VH-3D and VH-60 replaced after by S-92 very modified customized almost, communications systems and ECM especialy.

I think the biggest issue for a VV22 has to do with the lack of a pressurized cabin.
MV22 flown attached to the President are used to transport staff, press and security. As V22 maxes at 22 passengers the press corps attached to the President easily could take one whole bird. The Security details are hush but I would lay odds of easily filling another one. That leaves staff. A Osprey filled with lawyers and secretaries.

Very fast, mixed helo/aircraft get a long range, carry about 22 troops but enough big take space in a ships and very expensive want 72 mill $ fly away, one UH-60M want 20 mill and very few rich countries can buy.

Well I said passengers intentionally, as your not going to pack a civilian member of the president's entourage in like you will a combat Marine.
for military roles it could go up 32.

As for size not as much room as you would think, It depends on the size of the ship mostly A full sized Carrier or LHA could take it but if you start shrinking it starts getting troublesome. I doubt any chances of deployment in a destroyer unless it's been really stretched, Independence Class mission bay was scaled to give it the option but it's a very exceptional case.
Really though Osprey is a very unique asset Faster then any Helicopter with longer range to boot, able to land in place no fixed wing production Air plane other then the F35B or AV8 Dare. If you need to deploy a combat force fast and at range it more than pay's the price.

Ok, hehe

Talking for space on LHA/LHD and San Antonio ships which in Exp Strike Group carry him usually.

Thinking new very fast helos projects as S-97 etc... no convertible as V-22 will be more affordable and clearly much less expensive to a flight hour, less complex more simple.

I've read at naysayers' sites (repeat: read at naysayers' sites) Ospreys are, politely said, too complex to maintain in adverse ("combat") conditions ... is it true?

Well in Deployment they managed a 62% readiness rating that was in 2011, in 2014 they were said to be in the high 80's. So I would say that they would fair as well as any other modern system.

while again trying to be respectful, I add I've read the numbers are obtained in "idealized situations" perhaps not representative of what would happen if forward-deployed in for example a jungle ... and I finish with noticing how deadly helicopter operations are anyway:
3305 out of 7013 UH-1s which served in Vietnam!!
