Re: US Defense Sec. Chuck Hagel visits China

Yes, Chuck Hazel was given a very good welcome, typical of Chinese/Asian Hospitality. However, at the same time as quoted in the ST newspaper of 9 April 2014, (by ST China Bureau Chief) : "China's Military Chiefs openly vent their anger at Hagel". The use of SOFT & HARD Power are displayed by a Rising Super Power. Many will wait the response of the US (if any) to this show of China's annoyance. The ball is now on the Obama's Administration Court.

This is a temporary thread. I'll merge it with another thread after Hagels visit to China.

So far zero photos of his visit to CV-16.:(

The US response is more on the "I don't give a [explicitive removed] line of thinking to be honest, alas nothing unexpected...see below:

SecDef Hazel's comment on China's setting up ADIZ will certainly ruffled a lot of feathers because to the Chinese, the US and Japan never discussed with them when they imposed their ADIZ in that area all those decades ago.

The selling of 2nd hand OHP FFGs to Taiwan is highly expected to be approved in the Congress...ok, those tin cans won't tip the balance either quantitatively nor qualitatively unless they carry anti-matter warheads (duh...), but in no way Beijing won't make a fuzz about that either.

NO PROFANITY. NO SHORTENING OR ASTERICS IN PLACE OF LETTERS FOR PROFANE WORDS.

READ THE RULES.

Re: US Defense Sec. Chuck Hagel visits China

Honestly...The photos from CV-16 down we have all seen previously.. It would be nice if the PLAN released some new photos of CV-16.
I used the pics of Hagel we do have. from his visit, and before he actually got on the carrier..but had to use older pics of the carrier and the places he is said to have visited on the carrier because there are NO PICTURES available of hiom on the carrier.

Reporters and photographers were not allowed on board. This means we will wait on the PLAN to publish their PR pictures whenever they do. I am sure they will and they will probably first appear in either a press release by the PLAN, or in the People's Daily Online.
